Bhopal: BU, Bansal, Radharaman & All Saints’ register win

BHOPAL: Four matches of corporate and college category of the Oriental Cup Season 6 inter college and corporate tournament were played on Tuesday. The first match of corporate group was played between Barkatullah University and team Second Innings won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Batting first, BU team scored 207 runs in the given 20 overs at a loss of 2 wickets. Ahtesham Malik made a brilliant century and scored 102 runs off 59 balls while Ashim Shukla gave a contribution of 39 runs to the team’s score. Puspendra of team Second Innings clinched 2 wickets. Chasing the massive target, Second Innings were able to score only 146 runs in 20 overs losing 9 wickets and lost the match by 61 runs. Ahtesham Malik was given man of the match for his excellent batting skills.

The second match was played between SATI College Vidisha and Bansal College Bhopal, SATI won the toss and elected to field first. With Divyansh’s 37 runs and Prashant’s unbeaten 33 runs, Bansal College scored 128 runs losing 9 wickets. Nikunj of SATI in his lethal bowling spell clinched 5 wickets. SATI Vidisha was unable to chase the target and was able to score only 127 runs and lost the match by 1 wicket. Nikunj Jain was given man of the match for his excellent bowling.

The third match was played between Ravindra Nath Tagore team and All Saints’ team. Ravindra Nath Tagore team won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 70 runs in given 20 overs. Faizan and Sumit scored 15 and 13 runs respectively for the team. Suresh and Rahul of All Saints’ clinched 3 and 4 wickets respectively. The All Saints’ team chased this target in 18 overs losing 9 wickets and won the match by 1 wicket.

The last match of the day was played between Patel College and Radharaman team. Radharaman team won the toss, elected to bat first and scored 153 runs at a loss of 7 wickets. Vikky scored 28 runs while Anand gave a contribution of 43 runs to the team’s score. Aseem of Patel College clinched 2 wickets while Atif picked 1 wicket of the Radharaman team. Patel College was unable to chase the target and got all out at 146 runs and lost the match by 13 runs. Man of the Match was given to Anand and the award was presented by the Chief Guest of the day Neeraj Goyal from Bansal and Abhimanyu Chopra of Govindpura Association.
