BHOPAL: BJP workers would also join the convention of ex-servicemen to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The government has set a target to bring 50,000 ex-servicemen. The number of ex-servicemen living in the state is almost the same. And there is little possibility of all of them turning up for the event. Hence, the BJP workers from the nearby districts would be brought, so that the convention venue looks jam-packed.
Local BJP leaders have been asked to attend the function with their followers in two.
When Modi had came to the city to address the World Hindi Convention, admission was strictly by invitation only. This would be Modi’s first public meeting in the city after becoming the Prime Minister. The party and the government are anxious that the show should be impressive.
All ministers have been asked to be present in the programme. BJP party organisational leaders have also been asked to attend.
The name of the programme has been changed to ‘Shaurya Samman Sabha’, to link it with surgical strikes. The Lal Parade Ground is being given a grand look. It is not certain whether Modi will address the gathering at the opening of the Shaurya Smarak. A team of special protection group (SPG) has reached the city to oversee the security arrangements for Modi’s visit.
