Bharatiya Janata Party has set the criterion of giving ticket to one member from one family. Akash Vijayvargiya, who is son of MLA from Mhow, Kailash Vijayvargiya, is seeking ticket from Indore. Similarly, minister for panchayat and rural development, Gopal Bhargava is keen on ticket to his son Abhishek Bhargava.
There are several ministers in the state who want ticket to their sons. The BJP has also decided that it would give ticket to the sons of the ministers, when the party was sure that they would win. Amongst minister Jayant Mallaiya, Gaurishankar Shejwar and Gaurishankar Bisen are seeking ticket for their sons.
A meeting on ticket distribution took place at CM House on Friday. The meeting centered on preparing panels for all the seats. A meeting of state election committee will be held at Bhopal on October 28. The names finalized after the meetings would be put up before Central election committee.
Panels have been formed on the basis of survey got done by Chouhan for ticket distribution, feedback of RSS and opinions of other leaders. According to sources, BJP would field more than 80 new faces out of 230 candidates. These new faces will replace some sitting MLAs and also on the constituencies, which were in Congress’ kitty.
Mahajan meets leaders for ticket to her son
Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan, like other BJP leaders, was in the state capital on Friday for ticket to her son. Mahajan met state in-charge Vinay Sahasrabudhe, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union minister Narendra Singh Tomar. Mahajan is seeking ticket for her son Mandar Mahajan from Indore-3 seat. Mahajan intends to have her say in ticket distribution on other seats in Indore. Sources said Mahajan also had a meeting with former MP Krishnamurari Moghe over ticket distribution in Indore.
