BHOPAL: State president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has no problem for using the royal title ‘Shrimant’ to refer to Jyotiraditya Scindia. However, the higher education minister is unwilling to call or write Shrimant.

The uproar occurred after the higher education minister Jaibhan Singh Paviya’s action, when he made objection on the ‘Shrimant’ title used before the name of member of parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia while inaugurating a building in Ashoknagar.

He instructed to hide the Shrimant part embedded on the inaugural stone and then only he inaugurated the building.

While talking to media, BJP state president Nandkumar Chouhan informed that he did not have any problem in using the royal title Shrimant for Jyotiraditya Scindia or Yashodhra Raje Scindia.

He stated that in the party long before they were used to respect Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia, by using Shrimant before her name.

He also replied that minister Jaibhan Singh may have some personal opinion on the issue, but he is clear and have no problem with the title.
