Bhopal: Former chief minister Digvijaya Singh, who had alleged the BJP of doing horse trading to topple the Congress government, levelled a sensational allegation against the BJP in a press conference here on Tuesday. Singh alleged that Congress MLA from Sabalgarh, Baijnath Kushwaha was offered Rs 100 crore to topple the government.
BJP MLA Narayan Tripathi contacted Sabalgarh (Morena district) MLA Baijnath Kushwah (of Congress) and took him to a dhaba (eatery), where former ministers Narottam Mishra and Vishwas Sarang (both from the BJP) met him (Kushwaha). They offered Rs 100 crore to Kushwah to topple the government. He was also offered ministerial post in the new BJP government,” Singh told the reporters.
The BJP leaders told Kushwah to come with them as a chartered plane was ready. But he refused to go with them,” Singh said.However, he has refused to lodge a police complaint in this matter. The Congress leader claimed that BJP could not digest the defeat. Singh further claimed he could bring those MLAs who were offered crores of rupees by the BJP leaders to topple the government.
We have proved our majority in the House and showed that the MLAs of SP, BSP and Independent MLAs are with us,” he said. Singh said tainted people are nervous after being out of power and such people would not be spared. Meanwhile, former minister Narottam Mishra, reacting to the allegations said, “Congress is in power and they should take legal action. Leader of Opposition Gopal Bhargava said Digvijaya was merely boasting and that is why no one takes him seriously
