BHOPAL: Bhopal Mayor Alok Sharma and MLA Rameshwar Sharma filed objections over formation of Kolar Municipality by delimitation of area on final day of submission of claims and objections on Tuesday. Alok Sharma filed his objections with the Collector Sudam Khade while Rameshwar Sharma filed his objections with the BMC additional commissioner Kamal Solanki at Mata Mandir.
Citing article 243 of Constitution, Mayor said that Constitution has given a constitutional status to civic body. In 2014, Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) limit was extended. This brought Kolar and its villages from ward number 80-85 under the BMC with intension for development of sewage, water supply and infrastructure. He claimed if Kolar is separated from BMC, projects which are being implemented for said purpose will be stalled and hindered. Mayor said there is no need of delimitation again or to separate Kolar areas in the form of municipality.
MLA Rameshwar Sharma said, “I have filed objections for formation of Kolar municipality with additional commissioner BMC Kamal Solanki stating that it will hinder the progress of the Kolar area. On the basis of census 2011, delimitation has already been executed with merger of Kolar area. So there is no need of delimitation again to separate Kolar from BMC.”
Directorate of Urban Administration and Development (DUDA) officer Manoj Shrivastava said, “Objections and claims have been submitted at two to three places. We will pursue the matter further.” BMC additional commissioner Kalam Solanki said, “We have received 133 claims and objections so far. Other centres must also have received claims and objections.”
