BHOPAL: Minister of State Sanjay Pathak, who is in the eye of a storm after the transfer of Katni SP Gaurav Tiwari, is drawing sharp criticism from the BJP leaders. Former MP Raghunandan Sharma, taking a cue from several top leaders of the party, has now opened front against Pathak. Sharma has said Pathak should take a decision in keeping with the public opinion. He said BJP is different from other parties when it comes to probity and upholding principles in politics and this should show.
Prior to Sharma, former minister Ajay Vishnoi, MP Prahlad Patel and other leaders had expressed their anguish over the decision of the state government. There are several senior leaders in the party, who are avoiding speaking openly against Pathak but they also maintain that state leadership is making a big mistake by supporting Pathak.
As far as the BJP is concerned, a large number of its leaders are against Pathak.
On the other hand, barring Congress state president Arun Yadav, other top leaders have are maintaining a silence on the issue. Leaders like former union ministers Kamalnath, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kantilal Bhuria and Suresh Pachauri are keeping mum. Former chief minister Digvijay Singh too has not said much so far, except commenting on his Twitter handle.
