BHOPAL: Congress candidate Digvijaya Singh, addressing a meeting of Congress workers on Saturday here, said that BJP leaders refused to contest elections against him. Singh said BJP gave ticket to a person, who had joined BJP a day before, after all its leaders had refused to contest against him. Singh claimed that BJP government did not work with planning in Bhopal. Neither there was planning for sewage nor for the various colonies. He said BJP MPs made tall claims but did nothing on ground.
Singh alleged that BJP was befooling people in the name of Hindu-Muslim. He said the ‘Ganga-Jamuni’ culture is pride of Bhopal. Later addressing a programme of students Singh said, BJP says that one should not think of the candidate but Modi. Singh said your MP and not Modi will come for help when you are in trouble. He said he had a plan for development which he would fulfill. On his promises he said in 2003 that he would not take any constitutional post for ten years. He said ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had asked him to become minister twice but he had refused him. Singh reiterated whatever promises he was making he would surely fulfill them.
