Bhopal: BJP leader gets relief in cheque bounce case

BHOPAL: BJP leader Kamal Patel got relief through compromise in cheque bounce case in Lok Adalat on Saturday. The case was pending in court of ADJ Suresh Singh. However, amount has not been disclosed but compromise was struck in Lok Adalat.  Advocate Dilip Sharma said, “It was long pending case of BJP leader Kamal Patel under Negotiable Instrument Act (NIA) in the court of ADJ Suresh Singh. BJP leader got relief.Patel was not present in the court when the judgment was passed.

Lok Adalat is an alternative dispute redressal mechanisms, it is a forum where disputes or cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled/ compromised amicably. Many cases were settled through comprises in court of Suresh Singh. Case of Kamal Patel is highlighted case.” Similarly, Advocate Manish Mishra said, “Fifteen cases of NIA were settled through compromise. Award ranging Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 5 lakh was settled in the Court of ADJ Arvind Kumar Goel during lok Adalat.”

Advocate Sanjay Gupta said, “Most cases were tax related and after court’s intervention, people paid the taxes with concessions and got relief in the court during the Lok Adalat.” In lok adalat, various cases like cheque bounce, motor vehicle accidents claim cases, insurance cases; matrimonial cases were settled at pre-litigation stage. Over 47 courts were constituted for settlement of the cases.

NLA settles 1545 cases, awards Rs 16.09 crore relief
National Lok Adalat has awarded Rs 16.09 crore relief on Saturday. Over 1545 cases were settled amicably between the parties, facilitating instant disposal. District judge Rajendra Kumar Verma inaugurated the Lok Aadalat. Various cases like matrimonial, NIA, water cess, electricity bill, miscellaneous civil and criminal cases, motor accident disputes were resolved at the Lok Adalat.
