Ahead of the ensuing polls, BJP and Congress have come face-to-face on scams. After I-T raids on confidants of Chief Minister Kamal Nath, the state government’s economic offences wing (EOW) has filed first information report (FIR) in e-tendering issue.
The issue of irregularities in e-tendering came up first before assembly elections. Investigations were done in the name of primary inquiry for a long time. When Congress came to power in the state, it was assumed that FIR would be filed in the matter soon but it did not happen. It was also expected that FIR may be filed after Lok Sabha elections, however, it happened much before, apparently due to I-T raids on those close to Nath. On Wednesday FIR was filed against BJP leaders and officers in connection with the case.
The BJP and Congress have come in a state of confrontation with the filing of the FIR. Congress spokesman Narendra Saluja said we have fulfilled what we had stated in Vachan Patra about filing of FIR in e-tendering issue. Saluja asked, “Why BJP is getting restless on seeing names of unknown politicians?
Meanwhile, BJP spokesman Rajnish Agarwal said party has no issue over filing of FIR. Agarwal said they had faced emergency times too; Kamal Nath and his confidants need to reply about revelations made in I-T raids. It is reported that some more revelations would come up in connection with I-T raids in the coming time.
Some lists have been recovered in the raids which would be disclosed through media. It is expected that disclosures may create further ripples in the political arena in the state. The state government is also gearing up to initiate inquiry against the BJP government and it would cover main leaders of BJP and RSS.
