Our party’s golden era has begun, boasts Nandkumar

BHOPAL: The state BJP seems to be taking the electorate for granted. The party is has no doubt that it would form its government in the state again after the next assembly polls. And that was probably why, instead of talking about the problems of the people or the grassroots worker, the state executive committee meeting of the party here on Friday turned into a session for singing paeans to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. One after the other, the speakers showered fulsome praises on the two leaders.

Addressing the meeting, state party president Nandkumar Singh Chouhan said that the times have never been as favourable for the party as they were now. He said that the party will certainly form its government for the fourth time in a row under the leadership of Shivraj.

Nandkumar said that the party might have lost the Ater assembly bye-elections but its vote share had grown. In absolute numbers, the party had polled 11,000 more votes in the bye-polls than in the 2014 elections. He said that the party workers should whole-heartedly join the government’s Gramodaya Se Bharat Uday campaign and try to know the common man’s views. He said that this is “our golden period”.

Nandkumar said that the people should be apprised of the fact that the Congress was opposing the constitution of the Backward Classes Commission so that OBCs can see the real face of the party.

National general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the BJP had become an “invincible fortress”. He said that those who are joining the party should be associated with the party’s ideology and beliefs too. Union minister Narendra Tomar said that the all the decisions of PM Modi were ‘historic and extremely popular’. He said Modi had emerged as a leader not only of India but of the world. Tomar did not forget to praise Shivraj Singh either. He said under the chief minister’s leadership, the state had witnessed unprecedented growth in agricultural production.

Govt is moving towards prohibition: Political resolution

The political resolution adopted by the state executive said that the government is moving towards prohibition. It said the party would launch a state-wide anti-addiction campaign. The state general secretary Banshilal Gurjar, who had tabled the resolution, said that the government has already decided to shift liquor shops from near residential areas, educational institutions and religious and spiritual centres. He said that the different morchas and units of the party were planning to launch a programme for making the state addiction-free.
