Bhopal: Bhopalites salute PM, IAF for resounding response

Bhopal: Jubilant people took to the streets to celebrate India’s air strike on Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists and trainers in Pakistan. Cutting across party lines, people irrespective of their political affiliation, came together to celebrate the day saluting Indian forces and the country’s second surgical strike on Pakistan.

Hailing the airstrikes by the Indian Air Force, people thanked PM Narendra Modi for taking swift action after the February 14 Pulwama attack that claimed the lives of 40 CRPF jawans. Spontaneous celebrations erupted in many parts of the city with Bhopalites carrying tricolor marching on streets shouting nationalist and pro-Modi slogans distributing sweets and bursting crackers.

The ‘josh’ among the people was high soon after the reports of pre-dawn operation on terrorists camps avenging a suicide bombing in Pulwama were aired on television channels. After the news of the attack surfaced on social media, twitter has been buzzing with reactions and many called the attack ‘Surgical Strike 2’.

Bhopalites like any other Indian jumped at the opportunity to get down to action on the social networking sites, and in no time hashtags like #surgicalstrike2, #indiastrikespakistan, #indiastrikesback were topping the trending list. People were found busy taking jibe at Pakistan, sharing posts, videos and clippings of IAF strike and hailing Government and IAF.

MLA Rameshwar Sharma with his hundreds of friends and supporters celebrated bursting crackers and distributed sweets at MLA rest house. People danced with tricolor and the burst crackers and distributed sweets. Rameshwar Sharma said, “Today, it is moment of pride of we people after IAF strike on Pakistan. Now world has seen how India can retaliate and revenge. The Pakistan should know the power of India. Today, we salute IAF for the strike and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We celebrated and danced over the pride moment.”

BJP workers assembled at Bhawani Chowk (Old city) and celebrated the occasion showering praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian forces. Holding tri-colour, BJP leaders said that India should continue to strike on terrorists camps. India has final laugh by launching IAF strike on terrorist camps, said jubilant party workers.

Students at Hamidia College celebrated as Country avenged Pulwama terror attack. Saluting the PM Modi and IAF, the students said, “Pakistan should now not undermine India as we will continue to give befitting reply to Pakistan and its state sponsored terrorism. Modi has done a great job, we salute IAF and Indian government from bottom of our heart, said elated students in unison.

Sanskriti Bachao Manch members held celebrations at Second Bus Stop hailing government and Indian forces. Manch convener Chandrashekhar Tiwari said, “ PM Narendra Modi did which he promised. We were expecting it from Modi for long time after CRPF jawans were killed. Today, Modi has made us proud.”

Akhil Bharati Brahman Samaj Manch distributed sweets in MP Nagar. Manch general secretary Pushpendra Mishra said, “PM Narendra Modi has done a good job. We were waiting for revenge of killings of CRPF jawans in Pulwama. It is a great occasion of every Indian as far as security and safety is concerned. We salute IAF and PM Narendra Modi.”
