Bhopal: Bhopal, Indore Metro in limbo Government now talking about mono-rail project

Bhopal: The poor financial condition of the state has begun to reflect on the state government in just one month. According to sources the state government has decided to shut down Metro project in Bhopal and Indore. There were speculations about the project since 2012.

Ex- Chief Minister Babulal Gaur, commenting on shutting down of Metro project, said Chief Minister Kamal Nath said that the project would be shut down as it was quite expensive. According to Gaur, the government was now talking about working on mono-rail project. Bharatiya Janata Party state spokesman Rahul Kothari has raised question on the intentions of the state government over putting Bhopal-Indore Metro Project on hold.

Kothari said the gift to Bhopal and Indore, after immense efforts of former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan and permission of central cabinet, would not be allowed to go away. Meanwhile, Congress coordinator Narendra Saluja said that the news of putting Metro project on hold were baseless.

Crores spent on DPR During BJP government that its first phase would be completed by 2019 but it could not be done. The state government has spent crores of rupees in preparing of detailed project report (DPR), survey and other works. The state government, if it shuts down Metro project, would also have to close down the company made for it.
