Bhopal: Candidates coming for offline counselling for AYUSH courses on Monday cried foul alleging that they were informed about it at the eleventh hour because of which many applicants failed to reach Bhopal for the scheduled counselling.

Taking cognizance of their objections, the MP department of Ayush extended registration schedule for final round of offline counselling until Tuesday noon. The students also alleged that they were kept in dark about the availability of seats vacant in government and private colleges for courses in ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy, unani, siddha and homoeopathy.

Registration was carried on at Pt. Khushilal Sharma Government (autonomous) Ayurveda College and Institute, here on Monday. Only two registration counters were operational in the evening. The candidates alleged foul play saying that they were given just a day notice to reach Bhopal for the counselling. The whole issue has reignited memories of MP DMAT scam which led to introduction of combined NEET examination.

Ayush department offline counselling schedule was released late on Friday. Many of the candidates could not reach Bhopal for the counselling on Monday. Nearly 1,814 seats are vacant in 55 private and government Ayush colleges in the state. In these 87 seats are vacant in government-run colleges.  According to candidates, MP Online notice was uploaded on Jan 20. There was no email notification, too. There is no way that students from far off places can reach Bhopal for registration.
