Bhopal: Maximum temperature peaked to 44.4 degree Celsius in state capital on Friday, making it the season’s hottest day so far; the night temperature, however, came down by a few notches and settled at 31.2 degree Celsius. Most parts of Madhya Pradesh continue to reel under hot and dry weather conditions. Heat wave has gripped West and Central parts of the state where the mercury breached 45°C.
At 46.7° C Nowgaon was the hottest place in the state followed by Sheopurkalan and Gwalior where mercury touched 46.6° C and 46.2° C respectively. Heat wave condition are prevailing in Gwalior and Chambal divisions and districts of Guna, Shajapur, Burhanpur, Badwani, Raisen, Ratlam, Rewa, Satna, Rajgarh, Rajgarh, Chhattarpur, Satna, Gwalior, Damoh, Khandwa, Khargone, Sheopurkalan, Shivpuri, Tikamgarh and Umaria districts.
Indore recorded maximum temperature of 42.4 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of 27.8 degree Celsius. Heat wave will persist in parts of Madhya Pradesh such as Sheopur, Gwalior, Datia, Nowgong, Tikamgarh, Khajuraho, Damoh, Shajapur, and Khargone. However, southeastern parts of the state have been recording on and off pre Monsoon activities in the form of light thundershowers or thunderstorms.
Besides, many places recorded rainfall. Malajhkhand recorded 3.6mm, Seoni recorded 2.2mm, Chhindwara recorded 1.2mm and Bhopal experienced 0.5mm rain in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, Chhindhwara, Mandla, Seoni, and Narsinghpur may experience light rain or thunderstorm activity during next 24 hours.
According to Meteorological department, Madhya Pradesh is experiencing contrasting weather conditions these days. Many parts of the state are reeling under hot and dry weather conditions, while southeastern parts of the state have been recording on and off pre Monsoon activities in the form of light thundershowers or thunderstorms.
