Bhopal: Police on Wednesday booked three people, including an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), his son and his son’s friend for allegedly stabbing a 32-year-old man and his pregnant wife on Tuesday late night at Awadhpuri. The accused ASI and his son’s friend had been arrested by the police while his son was absconding, the police said.
According to the police, accused ASI Raghuveer Singh Dangi, posted in Raisen district and his family including his accused son Amit Dangi and victim Vishal Ehlani and his family used to live as tenants in the same house located in Surbhi Avenue township in Awadhpuri locality here. Dangi and victim Ehlani often used to indulge in altercations over the issue of electricity and water supply in the house. On Tuesday, the victim, a private company employee returned home in the evening after which his wife, who is eight-month pregnant, informed him about an altercation regarding water supply alleging that the accused family emptied the tank by using all the water.
Ehlani then went down to confront Dangi on the issue on which they entered into a heated argument. He then returned to his house on the first floor of the building and slept after having dinner. At around 1 am, accused Dangi went to his house along with his son Amit and Amit’s friend Ratan and entered into an altercation with Ehlani. After sometime the three armed with baseball bats and sharp-edged weapons attacked the couple in which victim’s pregnant wife sustained stab wounds in her stomach while Ehlani sustained injuries on his back and hands. The two were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are said to be in stable condition, added police.
“The victim lodged his complaint against the three accused after which the police arrested main accused Dangi and his son’s friend Ratan while his son Amit managed to flee and is absconding. Efforts are on to nab him,” said TI, Awadhpuri, Pragya Arya.
