Bhopal: Artists learn nitty-gritty of Kuchipudi in workshop

BHOPAL: A two-day workshop on Kuchipudi dance is underway at Pratibhalaya Arts Academy, Bhopal. As many as 68 participants are learning in the workshop. Artists from Andhra Pradesh, Durga Rao and Sheikh Karimullah are imparting training to the participants.

The academy’s director Manju Mani Hatwalne said it is the first workshop on Kuchipudi in the city. Kuchipudi is the famous dance form of Andhra Pradesh. The dance is named after a village named Kuchipudi in Krishna district, where male Brahmins used to perform it.
