Bhopal: Anti-encroachment squad attacked

SAGAR: The shopkeepers had encroached upon public land on both sides of the main road near Kalicharan Chowk in Civil Lines. When a team of the municipal corporation reached the place to remove the encroachments, it had to face angry protests. Some team members were assaulted. The corporation employees reached the Gopalganj Police Station to lodge a complaint against the shopkeepers. The shopkeepers too reached the thana to complain. They said that the corporation employees had misbehaved with them and that the team had reached the market without any notice. Two municipal employees were injured in the fracas. CSP Gautam Solanki said that both the sides have filed complaints and that further action would be taken after enquiry.
