BHOPAL: Park located in 5-bus stop locality, is being used for parking. Local residents hardly look interested for proper maintenance of the park as if the park, if it is properly maintained, will not offer them the free parking space.

Undeveloped park is boon for such residents. However, onus lies on Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) administration as well as local residents for the proper development and maintenance of the park.

It is not only lethargic attitude on the part of the BMC administration but also vested interest of handful of local residents. They are hardly bothered about sports of children or recreational facilities of residents.

Deepak Soni said, “The park has not been developed but many residents are using the un-fenced space as parking. Such kind of vested interested persons hardly take interest in development of the park. BMC administration should concentrate on such issues.”

Kanhaiyalal Panjawani said, “BMC administration should focus on such kind of problems like park maintenance. It will also check the mushrooming encroachment on park land. BMC administration should also crack the whip on such elements who are taking advantage of their posts and influence.”

Prakash Raikwar said, “BMC administration should focus on proper sanitation and take action against encroachment. People have large fleets of cars and they park them in this park land. They have erected tin-sheds on the park land and are parking their vehicles there.”

Sandeep Singh said, “Problem of car parking should not be correlated with development of the park. If park is developed, people will explore other options for parking. BMC administration is supposed to take action in this matter.”
