Bhopal: Anand Vihar students shine in swimming contest

BHOPAL: Nine students of Anand Vihar School bagged medals in swimming and painting competitions in the three-day programme ‘Sophrosyne-2016’, organised by Billabong International School. Eight schools participated in the event.

In sports meet, junior girl’s team of the school won swimming championship and senior girls were the runners up. Tapsya Saini, student of class eight bagged gold in 100 metres freestyle back stroke, Kamakshi Gonda, of the same class got gold in 50 metres. Arya Johari, bagged bronze in 50 mtrs.

In senior category, Mehak Manware of class ten bagged silver medal. In Table Tennis, Tushar Nathani, Chirag Nathani and Saksham Sharma, students of class 11 and 12 brought laurels to the school by defeating Sanksar Valley School in the finals. Other teams were from Billabong School, Ssharda Viddya Mandhir and DPS. Kanupriya Vyas student of class nine of the school won first prize in painting competition of tribal and folk art called ‘Kala Bimb’ in which 12 schools participated. The principal and management have congratulated the students.
