BHOPAL: Member of National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) Dr Girdhar Gyani has said there are adequate employment opportunities in medical institutions. Over 65 per cent vacancies in hospitals were meant for women, he said. Gyani said reach of private medical institutions was limited to 20 per cent of the population in 1980. Now, over 80 per cent patients depended on private healthcare facilities.
Dr Gyani was delivering his keynote address at a motivational session for eye surgeons, paramedical staff and member of HR department of Sewa Sadan Eye Hospital here the other day. He said medical expenses were increasing but the Centre had made a provision of only Rs 30,000 per family per annum under national health insurance scheme.
