BHOPAL: The Congress held a meeting of its screening committee in New Delhi on Saturday in connection with the seats in MP for the Lok Sabha elections. Chief Minister Kamal Nath who also took part in it discussed with the committee’s chairman Madhusudan Mistry about the 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state. According sources in the Congress, the then leader of opposition, Ajay Singh and son of the Chief Minister, Nakul Nath, are all set to fight from Satna and Chhindwara constituencies, respectively.
MP Jyotiraditya Scindia too will contest from Guna. Earlier, it was said that Scindia might contest from Gwalior, but the meeting resolved that he would be fielded from Guna. MP Kantilal Bhuria will contest from Ratlam in Jhabua area. Others are Prabhu Singh Thakur (Dhar), Gajendra Singh (Khajuri), Ajay Shah (Betul), Meenakshi Natrajan (Mandsaur) and Rajendra Singh (Sidhi).
The names which were under consideration at the meeting were Anand Ahirwar and Surendra Choudhary (Tikamgarh), Abhay Mishra and Sunderlal Tiwari (Rewa), Mukesh Nayak and Raja Pateria (Damoh), Ramkrishna Kushmaria and Mukesh Nayak (Khajuraho), Pratapbhanu Sharma and Nishank Jain (Vidisha), Madhu Bhagat and Vishweshwar Bhagat (Balaghat), Mahendra Baudh and Kamalapat Arya (Bhind), Nitish Silawat and Babulal Malviya (Ujjain) and Suresh Pachauri and Hajarilal Raghuwanshi (Hoshangabad).
