Commissioner Kalpana Shrivastava on Monday instructed airlines to display detailed competitive commercial rates for cargo facilities for the benefit of exporters. Airport director has also been instructed to hold meetings with representatives of both airlines and industries (exporters) on May 2 to create a conducive atmosphere for MoU between the two.
She was presiding over a meeting with representatives of CII (Confedration of Indian Industries), MP Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Support Air Connectivity Group and others. Executives of Air India, Jet Airways, IndiGo and airport director Vikram Singh were also present. Meeting was aimed at exploring better option for cargo facilities from Bhopal Airport at competitive rates. Commissioner was apprised of expansion of cargo areas and parking areas by airport officials.
Commissioner Shrivastava said that fruits, pharma items and textile from areas near Bhopal district can be exported at competitive cargo rate in comparison to Indore. Kalpana Shrivastva, commissioner, Bhopal has fixed May 2 as the date of next meeting and the route planning team and cargo planning team of airlines have also been requested to be present at that meeting.
