Bhopal: After spell of light showers weather turns pleasant in city

Cyclonic Storm Vayu continued to affect the state on Sunday as from moderate to light showers were reported from all over the state with slight fluctuation of temperature.

BHOPAL: It was pleasant weather in the state capital on Sunday due to cloudy weather. Temperature was also down and it was almost normal due to two spell of light showers in the last couple of days. People enjoyed the pleasant weather.

Cyclonic Storm Vayu continued to affect the state on Sunday as from moderate to light showers were reported from all over the state with slight fluctuation of temperature.

The state has seen a major relief from dry and hot weather conditions with series of spells of rain due to Vayu cyclone, wherein, isolated places have recorded dust storm and thundershowers. These activities were accompanied with strong winds.

Satna recorded 16mm rainfall while Gwalior 7.2mm rain. Bhopal recorded 1mm and Nowgaon and Seoni recorded traces by Sunday evening.

The presence of Severe Cyclonic Storm Vayu over the Northeast Arabian Sea, which is giving rains in Madhya Pradesh. Due to this system, moist winds are blowing over the entire state, thus leading to rains.

At temperature front, Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 36.7 degree Celsius which was just below normal while it recorded minimum temperature of 25.6 degree Celsius which was just above normal.

Similarly, Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 36.7 degree Celsius which was one degree Celsius above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 24.6 degree Celsius which was just above normal.

According to meteorological department, as a result of these moist winds, cloud cover increased across the state and caused the drop in temperature.

Moreover, another system is developing over the west central Bay of Bengal along Andhra Pradesh coast. This system is resulting in incursion of moisture from the Arabian Sea. Thus, scattered places will experience dust storm followed by rain and thundershowers during the next few days.

Places like, Jabalpur, Mandla, Gwalior, Morena, Burhanpur and Tikamgarh will experience light rain, dust storm and strong winds during next 24 to 48 hours.
