Bhopal: After Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, now the Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan has raised questions on martyr Hemant Karkare. In an interview with a Marathi channel, she said, “We have regards for Karkare as he attained martyrdom performing duty, but his role as ATS chief in Maleagon bomb blast case was not proper.” Mahajan, who was in Bhopal, in an hour-long interview, also raised questions on the arrest of Dilip Patidar in Indore and others in connection with Malegaon blast. The Speaker said it was not related only to Patidar but also to other five people from Indore.
Stating that she did not hold anyone guilty, Mahajan said that she had sought reply on this issue as they were from Indore. Mahajan also had an hour-long, closed-door meeting with Sadhvi Pragya Thakur in Bhopal on elections. She said she was known to Pragya for long when they were working for ABVP. She said they had also met at the residence of former minister Laxman Singh Gaud. Exuding confidence on her, Mahajan said Pragya would defeat Digvijaya Singh.
