BHOPAL: Affiliation of Saraswati Co-ed Higher Secondary School has been suspended with immediate effect by MP Board of Secondary Education after it was found guilty of harassing a girl student for not paying fees.
The girl student of class IX was made to write her exams standing in presence of all class students. The girl broke down after taking two exams standing in class- all because her parents didn’t pay the fees.
State government took cognizance of the incident after wide media coverage. A team was constituted and an inquiry conducted in which the school management was found guilty of harassing the girl.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath had promised justice to the girl and had later offered her to study in school of her choice. He had also recommended strict action against the school. The joint director, school education department, Rajiv Singh Tomar took cognisance of the report that confirmed physical and mental torture to the girl and has suspended the affiliation of the school with immediate effect.
