SHIVPURI: Almost every day the town witnesses one or the other demonstration or protest against the severe drinking water crisis that has come to grip almost all localities of the town. But even as the people are running from pillar to post for fulfilling their need for water, the builders are merrily digging tube wells and using the water for construction work. During summers, the administration bans sinking of tube wells.
Orders are also issued to stop construction projects. However, the land mafia seems to be above the law. No action is taken against them. Recently, during digging for the laying of sewer line, drinking water supply lines were broken, worsening the water crisis. However, the construction work of builders’ projects in Darpan Colony, New Darpan Colony, Dwarkapuri Colony and Sadar Bazar is proceeding without any hindrance. One wonders why the administration cannot take tough action against them.
