Bhopal: Adhyapaks try to lay siege to CM’s house, cane-charged

Bhopal: The Adhyapak Sangh staged demonstration and tried to lay siege to the CM house demanding their merger with education department on Sunday. Police cane-charged the activists as they marched towards the CM house. The police have cordoned off the areas and raised the barricades to stop the demonstrators. Thousands of members of Adhyapak Sangh gathered at Dassehra Maidan TT Nagar and raised slogans against the government and injustice been done to them.

The state president Jagdish Yadav alleged that Adhyapak were facing discrimination from the government. They are equally qualified and are also working in same capacity along with the teachers of the education department, but they are the employees of the local bodies or of janpand, he added. The state government has given all the benefits of the 6th and 7th pay commission to the education department, but the Adhyapak have been denied all benefits, he added. They Adhyapak are demanding to merge their services into the education department. They are also demanding to amend the rule of B.Ed and D.Ed for the appointment on compassionate ground. 646 families are running pillar to post to get the appointment.

From Monday, the Adhyapak will stage dharna in Bhopal and from August 16 protest will be staged every district headquarters. The members will state demonstration and dharna on Teacher’s Day September 5, they will also stage protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
