BHOPAL: The court on Saturday awarded the accused death sentence- in the eight year old boy child rape and murder case. The director general prosecution Rajendra Kumar said this is the 6th capital sentence of year 2019.
He said that the ADJ court Gwalior has given capital punishment to 28-year-old accused Yogesh for raping, and murdering 10 year old boy. Incident occurred on April 28, 2019 under Bahodapur PS of Gwalior district.
Yogesh lured the child to a lonely place and sodomised him. He then killed him by strangulating him and crushing his head with a stone. Circumstantial evidence, scientific evidence and positive DNA report proved the case.
The accused was given capital sentence and other sentences under sections 377, 302 and 201 and POCSO act. From MP Prosecution the DPO Naseem and additional DPO Manoj Jain of Gwalior conducted the case in court.
The DG informed that in last year total number of death sentences were 21 in year 2018 which was highest in India and a record in history of MP Prosecution.
High Court has not acquitted any case which is also a big success, said DG. The DG has declared the commendation to DPO Gwalior Naseem and additional DPO Manoj Jain the reward of Rs 5000 cash including the support staff.
