BHOPAL: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has raised issue against the six power generation plants in the state in different stages of production, which it said would lead to a loss of Rs 1,33,000 crore to the state economy in coming 25 years.
AAP state coordinator Alok Agarwal informed in press conference on Wednesday that the state government had wrongfully made the agreement with the power generation companies. Three companies had already started their production work, including Singaji Power Phase I, Jhabua Power Generation Company at Seoni and BLA Power at Gadarwara.
He said, interestingly, the state power regularity commission had refused to purchase power from these companies, because of the high cost, but the state government had to pay fixed charge to these companies at the rate of Rs 1,322.5 crore per year for next 25 years. The other under-construction power plants like NTPC in Gadarwara and Khargon and MP Power Generation Company at Singaji Phase II would be completed in near future. The state would have to pay Rs 4,000 crore per year as fixed charge and for coming 25 years the amount would accumulate to Rs 1 lakh crore, Agarwal said.
