Bhopal: In a tragic incident, an 8-year-old boy died after accidentally falling into a well while flying kite in Pipaliya Pende Khan within the limits of Bagsewania police station on the eve of New Year, police said on Tuesday.
According to in-charge of Bagsewania police station Umrao Singh, the deceased is identified as Amit, son of Bheem Sankle, a resident of Sai Colony, Pipaliya Pende Khan who was class 3 student in a private school located at Sanket Nagar area.
On Monday evening he went with his friend Dhruv for kite-flying in the neighbourhood. At around 6pm, he fell in 25 feet deep well filled with 13 feet deep contaminated water.After the incident, his friend returned home but he didn’t inform about the tragedy to his parents. Later when the Amit’s family attempt to locate him proved futile they finally informed police after which Sub-Inspector Rakesh Narvariya along with family members searched for missing boy at every possible place.
While a missing person complaint was being lodged at Bagsewania police station, deceased’s father Bheem received a phone call from home and family told him body of Amit was found floating in a well located near their home.
Subsequently, they approached the well where they found kite and string near the well and with the help of BMC divers his body was fished out and sent to mortuary of hospital for the post-mortem. Later in the investigation of police it came to fore that it was an accidental drowning case. His friend also confirmed the same in his statement.
