Bhopal: 72 girls leave for Wagah border

BHOPAL : A 72-member contingent of girls, under the ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ scheme of the department of sports and youth welfare, left for a visit to Wagah Border, Hussainiwala and Punjab on Friday. The scheme is aimed at developing a feeling of patriotism and nationalism in the youths. The contingent was flagged off from TT Stadium by joint director, sports, Dr Vinod Pradhan. Bharti Chandel, in-charge of the contingent, was given the national flag to be hoisted at the border.

District sports officer OP Harod said the contingent comprises of members from 10 districts including Chhattarpur, Mandla, Singrauli, Sidhi, Umaria, Panna, Sagar, Rewa, Katni and Narsinghpur. The contingent would come back on November 16.
