Bhopal: The office of ex-Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, who had to vacate government bungalow during the BJP government in the state, would start functioning in the same bungalow after six months. Singh may shift in the bungalow after some time following some construction work there. Religious rituals are being performed prior to start of the office in the bungalow.

He was allotted B-I government bungalow, situated at Shyamala Hills, when the BJP came to power. Singh was residing in the same bungalow when he was a minister during Arjun Singh government. Singh had vacated the said bungalow following a high court decision directing the state government to get ex-Chief Ministers vacate government bungalows.

The state government had then allotted the bungalows to BJP’s ex- Chief Ministers: Kailash Joshi, Uma Bharati and Babulal Gaur as senior citizens. Singh had then refused to submit application to the government for allotment of government bungalow. Singh had vacated the bungalow in August, 2018. Singh was residing in Bhopal in a rented house. With Congress forming the government and Kamal Nath taking oath as Chief Minister, the same bungalow, which Singh had vacated, has been again allotted.
