Acting on the tip-off two teams of police arrested six miscreants who were trying to sell illegal weapons in the city and recovered a huge cache of arms.  The accused are habitual offenders and their arrest is likely to yield few more revelations.
DIG Dharmendra Chaudhary said that the gang members started the operation three months back.

He said that they brought guns from an inter-state gun supplier and would sell the guns to two persons in Bhopal. Guns seized by police have four variants — country made pistol, 12 bore gun double barrel, 12 bore adhiya single barrel (Smaller than rifle and larger than revolver) and rifle.

The arrested accused were identified as Ajju aka Azeem (27), Munna aka Nadeem (22), Sohel aka Saeed, Sultan, Arshad aka Babba (32) and Arshad (26).  The accused revealed interesting facts about their modus operandi during interrogation. According CSP Nishatpura Lokesh Sinha, the accused Ajju and Munna went to a village Dhani in Dhamnod district to purchase weapons. They wanted to provide cheap guns in the city.

They came in contact with a person from Sikligar tribe in Dhani village. He did not reveal his identity. He showed them many guns which he claimed were designed by him and manufactured the gun in his workshop located in deep forests. He offered a deal and sold 6 guns at very cheap cost. The guns were offered in the price range of Rs 5-10 k each. According to CSP the accused returned to Bhopal with guns and bullet and contacted buyers. As they are criminals they have good connections with criminals. They sold guns at double the profit.
