‘Departmental probe a tool to save corrupt’

During the Question Hour in the House on Friday, MLAs Harsh Yadav and Hina Kanware said that inordinate delay in departmental inquiries, allows corrupt officers and employees to go scot-free. Yadav said that in cases of employees being caught red-handed accepting bribe, charge-sheets are never submitted within the stipulated 90 days. This weakens prosecution’s case. Kanware said that the additional collector had submitted his probe report in the case of irregularities in the purchase of mosquito nets in Balaghat within six months but the government was yet to take action on it. Minister said that the government had given prosecution sanction in 339 cases in 2015 and 289 cases in 2016 and the cases which are pending will be disposed of as soon as possible.
