Bhopal: 4 held for stealing 10 wheeled truck

BHOPAL: The crime branch of the city police has arrested four persons on the charge of stealing a 10-wheeled truck worth Rs 17 lakh from Gelantine Square, Mandideep. All the accused are of Mandideep. They were coming to Bhopal to sell the truck.

Those who have been arrested include Mohan Singh Prajapati,36, Riaz Khan, 30, Amat Khan,28, and Monu Ahirwar,22. They stole the truck to repay their debt and for their bread and butter. They were addicted to liquor and gabling and had incurred huge debts.

Acting on a tip off that a 10-wheeled truck, which had been stolen from Mandideep, was on the way to 11 Meel, Bhopal, crime branch team swung into action and cordoned off the entire area. In the evening, they saw a truck coming from Bhojpur side. They stopped and interrogated driver Mohan Singh who could not show documents and satisfactory reply.

Initially, they misled the police but later they spilled the beans. They told the police that they had stolen the truck with help of a duplicate key provided by some “Bhaiya”.
