Bhopal: 3.5-year-old daughter of EPF department officer comes under dad's car, dies

Indore: In a tragic incident, a three-and-a-half-year-old daughter of an EPFO officer was killed after she came under the wheels of her father’s SUV in Annapurna area on Saturday noon. Her uncle was driving the vehicle at that time.

Annapurna police station in-charge Gopal Parmar said that the deceased has been identified as Shreedhi Upadhyay (3.5), a resident of Bhavishya Nidhi Enclave on Kesar Baug Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that Shreedhi’s uncle Anshul was going to their under-construction house in the vehicle and while he was reversing the vehicle, Shreedhi, who was playing inside the house, suddenly reached there and came under the wheels.

Shreedhi’s mother rushed out of the house but she couldn’t save her child. Anshul was also shocked after the incident. Soon after the incident, the family members informed Rahul about the incident after which she was taken to the hospital but she could not be saved.

The police are investigating the case. It is said that Rahul Upadhyay is an officer of the EPF office in the city and he was at his office at the time of the incident. The police are taking the statements of the family.
