BHOPAL: A high voltage drama unfolded in Khajuri when 30 retired army personnel lodged complaint with police on Sunday afternoon. They complained against a 30-year-old man who was allegedly torturing family of an ex-serviceman.
Accused Mahendra Rathore climbed atop the roof of his house and threatened to jump from there. The accused had eloped with daughter of a retired serviceman and was accused by the family to be threatening them as they did not accept the marriage. The daughter lives with Rathore. The ex-servicemen approached police seeking their help. They told police that accused would often visit their house and would pass lewd remarks against women in the family.
When police reached house of accused in Bairagarh Kalan village, he climbed atop the roof and kept on shouting that he would jump from there as crowd gathered below. Police pacified him. Sub divisional officer of police (SDOP) Bairagarh Antima Samadhia said Rathore and girl’s family have had a dispute after marriage. On Sunday, her family lodged a complaint against him, she said.
