Bhopal: Three men suspected of having links with Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF), a Sikh separatist group, were arrested in a joint operation
by Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Punjab and Madhya Pradesh police from different parts of Gwalior district late on Wednesday night. They were identified as Balkar Singh(45), Satindar Singh (26) and Balvindar Singh (22). The MP police plan to produce the trio in court and seek their remand after their Punjab counterparts are through with their interrogation.

Inspector General (IG), intelligence, Makrand Deouskar said that the trio was a native of the district and had links with KLF. He further said
that while Balkar Singh was arrested from Chinor, Balwindar Singh was arrested from Dabra and Satindar alias Chotu Rawat was arrested from
Thatipur area of the district. The trio used to supply ammunition to the KLF, he added. Inspector Yashwant Goyal of Thatipur police station said that the trio was booked under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and taken to Punjab.

According to reports, the trio had been living in Dabra for the last 20 years and had also managed to procure Aadhar card, ration card and other domicile-related documents. The trio enjoyed good social status and were quite popular among the locals due to their friendly nature, said the IG. Deouskar told that Border Security Force had recovered a cache of arms and ammunition near international border. Following the seizure, a case was lodged with Ramdas police station of Amritsar in May 2017. The BSF had also arrested two carriers of KLF Maan Singh and Sher Singh as they had reached the site to receive the consignment of automatic arms and ammunition near the international border.

During subsequent interrogation, the duo spilled beans about their three associates Gurdayal Singh, Jagroop Singh and Satwindar Singh. The associates were arrested from Punjab in June. During further investigation and interrogation, the trio informed the police about the three Gwalior-based men and described them as key links in KLF’s arms supply chain being operated by Pakistan International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF).
