Police claimed to have busted the gang that was involved in firing on a jewelery shop employee on Saturday. According to police 20 separate teams took four days to bust the case. The police zeroed in on the accused that were hiding at a dharamshala in Ujjain. Two more accused are on the run. The held accused, have been identified as Krityanand Tiwari, Manish Tiwari and Abhay Tiwari. While Dhirendra aka Than Than Choubey and and Maniranjan Choubey are on the run and a team is sent to Bihar to nab them.
They all lived in Aishbagh area and police will also question their land lord Abdul Aleem who rented out his house. The bike used in the incident was purchased from OLX, for Rs 30,000 and has been seized along with the tiffin boxes that were looted by them on the day.
The incident occurred at around 9 pm when 32-year-old driver Abdul Rehman was about to board the car along with his employer the owner of Agrawal Jewellers. The accused tried to snatch away his bag but when he resisted, the accused opened fire and shot three bullets at him. According to the police the prime accused in the case are a B.Pharma graduate and engineering student. One of them had gone to the shop of Agrawal jewellers in Jaunary this year where he saw the employee putting some ornament in a tiffin box.
He then plotted to rob the owner and for next two months they carried out recce of the area. On Saturday night they managed to rob that tiffin box. During the robbery they also opened fire at the employee in their attempt of loot, triggering panic in the Bhopal. IG Bhopal Jaideep Prasad said that the accused have confessed their crime. As many as 100 identified goons were taken in custody and were questioned by the teams to crack the case, he added.
On the day of incident, Manish Tiwari kept others informed about movement of the victim and as he reached near his car Dhirendra waylaid him and tried to take away his bag while Maniranjan fired at him. They then drove away from the spot in their two-wheeler. DIG Irshaad Wali said the teams found around 100 CCTV footages from the area but only four were useful. He said the residents have been urged to install better CCTV cameras in the vicinity as it helps maintaining safety.
Reward for police team
Sarafa associtaion has announced a reward of Rs 100,000 to the police team for their success. On the other hand IG has also announced a reward of Rs 20,00 0 on the information leading to the arrest of each of the accused.
Accused profile
A police team is set for Bihar to nab Dhirendra aka Than Than Choubey & Maniranjan Choubey. Two accused were staying in Bhopal for studies. Prime accused 24-year-old Krityanand Tiwari holds a diploma in B.Pharma & wanted to pursue M.Pharma. Manish Tiwari, is pursuing engineering from a private college in Bhopal. While, 18-year-old Abhay Tiwari, has competed his intermediate and was staying in Bhopal with the other two.
Duo tried to flee
Two accused Krityanand and Manish Tiwari had also tried to run away when they were being taken by police from Ujjain to Bhopal. As the team stayed near a dhaba for breakfast, they tried to dodge the police but were nabbed again.
