Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh health department has vaccinated 20 children in UP-MP border areas in the ongoing third phase of Mission Indradhanush immunisation programme. The department has focused on migrant families in Mission’s last phase. The department has constituted inter-state teams for Mission Indradhanush. The state has documented total number of migrants.
The families migrate to other states in search of work but return to their native places in rainy seasons. This health department has found it difficult to identify families that have migrated to other states or from one district to another district in MP.
State immunisation officer Dr Santosh Shukla said, “It is a challenging task to identify migrants. They received first dose of vaccines and migrated to other places. Rewa district administration supported us a lot. In Alirajpur and Jhabua districts, we have identified 10,000 and 20,000 migrants respectively. Nearly 2,500 families migrated to Gujarat for work. We have consulted their health officers for the support.”
Inter-state teams have prepared lists and now are now consulting health officers and district administration for support.
