BHOPAL: The state cyber police arrested two men accused of making a fake profile of a girl on Wednesday. The two accused were arrested from Balaghat and Seoni districts respectively, police said.
According to cyber police, few days ago the victim girl, a resident of Bhopal, had lodged a complaint in the cyber police station in Bhopal, that some unidentified person have created her fake profile on Facebook and posting material on it with the sole intention to defame her and her family. Based on the complaint the police started investigations and found the accused Prajwal Chourasia, an engineering aspirant and resident of Balaghat and one Anurag Baghel, a farmer and resident of Seoni district.
“The two were evading the arrest for quite some time but at last the police got hold of them. The main accused Chourasia during the interrogation told the police that the victim used to study with him in the school when her father, a government employee was posted in Balaghat. Later her father was transferred to Bhopal where she is currently living. After many years the girl met Chourasia during Mahakumbh on Ujjain last year and spent some time together speaking to each other when he proposed to her but she rejected her love proposal,” said assistant inspector general (Cyber Cell), Shailendra Singh Chouhan adding that after getting rejected he got enraged and made the fake profile to defame her.
“The other accused Baghel was a freind of Chourasia and was also involved in the crime as he too used to operate the fake profile. He was also arrested from his place in Seoni. Both the accused were booked under relevant sections of IPC and IT Act followed by further investigations,” added Chouhan.
