MBBS students of Government Medical College, Vidisha, do not find their lectures interesting as they before the divisional commissioner termed the faculties’ lectures as ‘boring’. The first batch students of the college vent out their views before the divisional commissioner Kavindra Kiyawat, who was visiting them on Monday. Kiyawat, instructed the administration and faculties to look into the issues of the students as they being the first batch at the college have no one to look up to for any guidance except the teachers.
“As it is first batch of MBBS students so there is no senior batch to guide them and clarify their doubts and subjects. So are missing it (guidance). Faculties are only conducting class. So I have instructed the teachers to handle the students sensibly and lend a sympathetic ear to their issues,” said the commissioner.
He stressed that even after their lectures, faculties are expected to clear the doubts of the students. In fact, faculties are supposed to make conducive atmosphere in college for better teaching and learning, said Kiyawat. Gradually everything will be on the track; we cannot compare Vidisha Medical College with other colleges as they have all kinds of facilities, he added.
“I asked faculties not to make subject complicated and also told students to apprise teacher about their doubts and also share other issues with them,” said the commissioner. He also visited hostels, library, study rooms and mess and instructed the dean Dr DK Pal to resolve the grievances of the students.
