Alot: At the time when the entire country is busy in debating security measures at educational institutions after a seven-year-old boy, Pradyuman Thakur was murdered; a 14-year-old girl from a private school was allegedly sexually harassed by her class teacher at Alot in Ratlam district. Incident occurred on Saturday and matter was reported to the Alot police on Tuesday after victim refused to go school, assistant sub-inspector and investigation officer Mohan Bhatti said.
Bhatti informed that police registered case against class teacher Amit Kumar, native of Jaitpur, Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh under Section of 354 of Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012. Police arrested him and sent him jail.
Bhatti informed that the complaint, student of class VIII in her police complaint informed that on Saturday when she went to meet her class teacher Amit Kumar after school hours (around 12 noon) to discuss some study matter, he allegedly held her hand with a bad intention and also asked for her mobile number. At the time of incident, she was alone.
Fearing some untoward incident, she ran out of class. On Monday, she did not go to school and even on Tuesday, when she refused to go school, her family members asked her the reason. Victim narrated entire ordeal to her family members, who subsequently rushed to police station and lodged complaint against Amit Kumar.
Acting swiftly into the matter, police registered FIR against Kumar and arrested him. When contacted school principal Rittu Singh Baghel, claimed that Kumar was innocent and somebody was implicating him in a false case. Baghel who attempted to safeguard accused class teacher initially said that the matter had not happened in the school premises and later claimed that victim confessed before entire village people that no such incident happened with her.
