Bhopal: 100-bedded maternity ward inaugurated at JP Hospital

BHOPAL: Minister for public health and family welfare Rustam Singh along with public relations minister Dr Narottam Mishra inaugurated a new maternity ward at local Jaiprakash Hospital here on Thursday.

Rustam Singh in his address said that inclusion of 100-bedded, new maternity ward in the hospital will surely help in bringing down maternal death rate. He said a significant reduction in infant and maternal mortality rate has been reported from the state due to intensive efforts of the government and it is intended to bring it down further. He said the hospital, which started as 90 bedded in 1962 now has 550 beds. Singh said the government would give all help in successful conduct of maternity ward here.

Union public health and family welfare secretary, CK Mishra, appreciating the innovations in the state, said several initiatives taken in the state are being adopted by other states. He also appreciated the qualitative changes, which came in the hospital.
