Sanawad: As many 10 villagers from Balkhad village, near Sanawad fell ill due to food poisoning after partaking in a meal at a village feast on Tuesday afternoon.
According to information, eight persons were taken to Sanawad, while two were referred to Khargone, where their condition is said to be stable. Villagers informed that locals attended the lunch after afternoon prayer hosted by a family. Two hours after having lunch about 10 of them reportedly fell sick.
One of the patients Manoj More who was admitted in Sanawad hospital informed that they had chicken and rice in lunch. After having lunch, villagers had the symptoms of diarrhea and complained of vomiting and stomach pain in the evening.
Initially, Jagan Pikdar, 55, and Ladu Jagan, 28, complained of vomiting and stomach pain and they were taken to Bediya situated community health centre, from where doctors referred them to Khargone.
Few hours later, eight more persons reported same symptoms. Villagers took all of them to Sanawad civil hospital. Manoj added that after they checked the kitchen and ingredients, they saw a packet of Holi colour and it could be possible that the cook may have added this as food colour.
