Bhopal: 10-day statewide ‘Halla-bol’ of farmers begins

Shajapur: In Shajapur, chaotic situation prevailed at the bus stand area after members of kisan sangh and local police jawans came face to face. Police controlled the situation and averted major dispute in the area. Police also cane charged after mob created mayhem in the area. According to information, farmers association members took out rally from Rajeshwari temple and went to traffic square passing through AB Road.

At the square, members presented memorandum to district administration officer. However, few members attempted to disturb traffic arrangement and sat on the road. They asked shoppers to close their shops and also pelted stones at shops in the area. Agitating farmers also lobbed stones on police party and few police jawans got injured in the protest. As situation turned from bad to worse, sub-divisional officer (police) Devendra Yadav and police station in charge Rajendra Verma took charge and controlled the situation.

When contacted SP Dr Monica Shukla said that few miscreants attempted to disturb peace in the town, but police team controlled the situation. Shukla added that members of farmer organisation took permission for rally, but some of the members tried to create scene and attempted to block roads, but now situation is under control.

 Farmers submit memorandum

Ratlam: Demanding adequate price for crops farmers in the district went on agitation and supply of vegetables and milk got affected. Under the banner of Yuva Kisan Sangh a vehicle rally was taken out which reached the collectorate and a memorandum was submitted. At number of places milk was spilt on the streets when they attempted to make supply in the city area. Tribals reached vegetable mandi to sell their products to the wholesalers but there were no buyers.

 Halla-bol impact in region

Unhel: At Unhel, farmers’ state-wide 10-day-long strike ‘Halla-bol’ has started to show its effect in region on Thursday. Local farmers have not sent their vegetables, milk and other agro produces in the markets and threw them on roads. The farmers leaders have appealed to all the fellow farmers to participate in 10-day-long state-wide strike and pressurise government to accept their demands. Due to farmers’ strike, local residents are facing severe problems of vegetables and milk.
