ASHTA : “Precautions should be taken while on social media. Don’t give your personal details. Just as we all take precautions in our daily lives and are conscious while making transactions, the same type of care should be taken in cyber space. Security is of paramount importance when you are active on social media. Actually your information is the means of income of various portals and apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Truecaller etc. However they do not commit any crime because you have consented to their terms and conditions. That’s why be careful while giving your personal information like telephone number, profile photo on the accounts, and don’t use it unnecessarily” said additional director general of police Varun Kapoor, while addressing the people related to media, prominent citizens and young students on ‘cyber sense’ in “Abhinav” programme which was organised by municipality council.
He explained the finer points of how to remain safe and secure in the cyber space for about two hours.
The chief guest was Varun Kapoor while sub-divisional officer Abhishek Gehlot, sub-divisional officer GP Agrawal, manager Rajesh Dubey of main branch, State Bank were present as special guests. The programme was hosted by Priyanka Surana, Virendra Singh Parmar and vote of thanks was given by chief municipal officer KL Suman.
