BHOPAL: Work was completely paralysed in over 4000 branches of PSU banks in the State on Monday as the nearly 40,000 employees and officers struck work on the first day of their two- day strike on Monday. Business worth Rs 3.22 lakh crore was affected and thousands of cheques and drafts were stuck. The Bankers want higher salary and a stop to the banking reforms.
In the city, all the 360 branches of PSU banks remained closed. Private and co- operative banks, however, functioned normally. The strike would continue on Tuesday.Bankers take out a rally at Oriental Bank of Commerce, Press Complex in Bhopal on Monday.
