BHOPAL: Labourers involved in the construction and whitewashing at the house have committed the robbery, alleged the 50-year-old victim of heist, Shashi Bakoria who was held captive at gunpoint and robbed at Ayodhya Nagar on Thursday. The house of deputy director of Madhya Pradesh State AIDS Control Society situated at Ayodhya Nagar was targeted by armed miscreants who robbed gold jewelleries worth Rs 4 lakh in broad daylight.

CSP Rashmi Kharya said, “During the further investigation it was found that a CCTV camera is installed in the neighbourhood, which recorded the activities in the corridor only and it did not cover the activities of the road”.

“The family has raised suspicion over the labourers who had completed the construction work which was undergoing for past few months and whitewashing was done before Diwali. The family believes that the labourers involved in the work were aware of the routine of the family and the investigation conducted so far also suggested that the miscreants were aware that the victim would remain alone in the afternoon”, Kharya added.

Three armed robbers barged into the house of deputy director of MP AIDS Control Society at Ayodhya Nagar on Thursday afternoon in broad daylight and took his 50-year-old wife hostage before escaping with cash along with jewellery worth more than Rs 4 lakh. The robbers while leaving the house threatened the woman that if she would call the police they would kill her son and daughter. The family shifted to Bhopal from Jhabua around one-and-a-half year ago and at the time of the incident Dr TD Bakoria had gone for official work outside the city. At the time of the incident Kalpana, daughter of the complainant had gone for her examinations at Gandhi Medical College.
